This is a quaint mid-17th century inn. Being of that era the building is full of character. The room we stayed in was generously proportioned, clean and well appointed. The room was furnished with well worn period furniture which worked well with the overall theme of the establishment. I had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant and the quality of the food and service could not be faulted. There are no parking facilities at this inn, however street parking can be found nearby (near the Down County Museum). I would definitely recommend a stay here.

We recently had our wedding reception here and I’d give 10 stars for everything if possible. Staff were amazing in every way, funny and partook in our groups rowdy banter at dinner. One of our group is a coeliac and they made sure he always had something and he also said the food was amazing. The function room was set up the day before so there was no stress or worry for us, Ursula was amazing and even one of the owners came to check on us and he was so lovely and accommodating in a really genuine way. You guys should be so proud of yourselves and this wonderful place - thank you so much for everything - I would recommend to anyone and everyone

Great pub with character. Had seven Canadians on tour who fell in love with the place. Beautiful traditional music and even played a few Gordon Lightfoot songs for my guests

This is a lovely old hotel with great staff just off the main street in Downpatrick (Thanks this time to Ursula and Jess). Handy for visiting the cathedral, St Patrick centre and the town centre. Saul, Strangford, Ardglass and The Mournes are also a short distance by car. The food is excellent (the seafood chowder is one of the best I've had) and their full Ulster fry will set you up for the whole day. There's a lively bar with top notch Guinness or there's a quieter snug bar if you just feel like sipping a few whiskeys. The rooms are cosy with comfy beds and retain all the charm of the hotel's days as a coaching inn. We really like Denvir's and have been a couple of times already. I thoroughly enjoyed my birthday visit and we'll definitely be back.
